Toovey’s embrace Online PR

After many hours of painstaking web development, design, and accessibility & useability testing Toovey’s have delivered what the Fine Art and Antique world has been waiting for.
Once again 2M Mediaworks has helped this very well established UK auctioneers create a master piece of their own. Toovey’s has broken the mould of Antique buying over the internet.
Fine art auctioneers Toovey’s are to hold their third auction of contemporary art on 30th May 2009. Works will be displayed at either Horsham Museum (10th March until 9th May) or Worthing Museum and Art Gallery (14th March until 23rd May) before they are sold at Toovey’s Spring Gardens auction rooms at Washington.
For collectors and patrons the auction offers an exciting platform for the acquisition of art by established and emerging names in the contemporary art world. The sale includes over 140 works by 52 self-representing artists, including painters, sculptors, photographers, print-makers, ceramicists and glass-workers. The list of acclaimed and award-winning artists includes Chris Kettle, Simon Dixon, Jimmy Lawlor, Rolf Hook, Hannah Stewart and Vic Bamforth.
“The ethos of these sales has always been to promote the arts in Sussex by creating a new stage for artists to showcase their work,” says event organiser Nicholas Toovey FRSA. “We are delighted that both Horsham Museum and Worthing Museum and Art Gallery share this same outlook and have shown their support by hosting exhibitions of the entries prior to the auction. We hope that the sale will reciprocate this support by acting as a stimulus for people to visit each of the museums. Both feature stunning collections of local and national importance and are free to enter.”
With such a variety of works on offer, there is art to suit all budgets, tastes and interiors. Entries are potentially available at more affordable prices than they would be in a gallery, so this auction is a marvellous opportunity to purchase contemporary works of museum quality. Fully illustrated catalogues are available for £5 from the auction rooms and exhibition venues or for £6 by post from Toovey’s.
